AGM focuses on the Registration Process for Psychologists

The Maltese Psychological Association held its Annual General Meeting on Friday the 21st of October. Members were addressed by Ms Mary Ann Agius, chairperson of the Psychologists’ Board which was set up under the recently enacted bill to regulate the profession. The process of professional registration for those wishing to practice in Malta was overviewed.

Completion of this process will ensure that the use of the professional title of “psychologist” can be protected thus ensuring that only competent, fully qualified professionals make use of it. This will go a long way towards protecting the public from bad practice.

The occasion also served to bring together members with diverse specialisations and working within various settings.
