Seminar focused on career development for psychology graduates

The Maltese Psychological Association (MPA) held a seminar entitled ‘The Psychology Graduate: A Profession in the Making’ on Friday 29th April. The well attended meeting offered participants an opportunity to explore the diverse career options open to holders of a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Speakers included graduates that had established careers in the field of research, social care services and management. Further career development was also discussed with reference to local, distance learning and foreign training opportunities. The presentations were followed by refreshments. The Graduate Committee within MPA is committed to raising awareness amongst the public and employers about the specific skills graduate training in psychology offers. It also continues to voice concern about the challenges career development in this field presents.
