The MPA can only investigate a complaint about an individual psychologist who is a member of the association. It cannot investigate a complaint about an institution or organization.

The Association can investigate complaints if the behaviour of the psychologist in question is deemed to have breached the code of ethical conduct of the association (provide link). Disagreements between psychologists and clients do not provide grounds for lodging a complaint.

Complaints must be made in writing and sent to the association. The anonymity of other people implicated in the complaint must be assured at all times.

The complaint will be discussed by a special sub committee set up for the purpose. You will be kept informed about the progress of your complaint. If deemed necessary the complaint is forwarded to the Malta Psychology Professions Board, the regulatory Board on the Maltese Islands.
